Though designed to be primarily operated via the mouse, ContactsLaw offers many keyboard shortcuts. These are provided in addition to the standard Windows shortcuts (e.g. F4 to open dropdown controls, F2 to place a grid cell in edit mode, etc).

General

F1​

​Opens the help page.

F3

Opens the search window.​

F6

Switches to the Home ribbon.

​F7

Displays the navigation map.​

F9​

​Navigates to My Portal.

F10

Navigates to ​The Practice.

Ctrl+Tab

Switches to the next tab.​

Shift+Ctrl+Tab

​Switches to the previous tab.

Ctrl+W

Closes the current tab.​

Ctrl+T

Creates a new ​task.

Ctrl+E

Creates a new e-mail.​

Alt (tap once)

​Show Key Tips.

Search 

Shift+Down

Moves the cursor from the search term to the search results.

​Shift+Up

​Moves the cursor from the search results to the search term.

Enter

​Performs the search or, if pressed while in the search results, selects/opens the highlighted result.

Text

​Scroll Lock

Toggle automatic capitalisation/formatting of text.​

Ctrl+U

Converts the highlighted text to UPPER CASE.​ (Not available in all text fields)

Ctrl+L

​Converts the highlighted text to lower case. (Not available in all text fields)

​Ctrl+T

Converts the highlighted text to Title Case.​ (Not available in all text fields)

​Ctrl+J

Converts the highlighted text to Sentence case.​​ (Not available in all text fields)

Hyperlinks

Space

Clicks the hyperlink.

Document cataloguing

​F8

​Previews the document in a popup window.

​Ctrl+F8

Opens the document for reading in its associated application.​
